EMI is an Italian publishing house that was founded by 15 male and female religious orders that carry out their missionary work inside and outside Italy. This year EMI celebrated its 40th anniversary.

At EMI, we value richness and diversity in thinking, but in respect of each and every individuality.

A unique case in the Italian publishing world, our catalogue includes stories of missionaries, books on justice and peace, inter-faith dialogue and new life-styles. Furthermore, we have titles that address themes of solidarity and international cooperation and respect of the environment, without forgetting the spiritual and theological roots of our funding orders.

EMI’s audience is wide and heterogeneous: from religious people to social movements, from the cultural and intellectual spheres to the world of education, up to the political world.

These are the spheres where our founding religious orders live and work, and they are all reflected in the extensive EMI catalogue.

At EMI we value individuality and diversity, because we strongly believe that dialogue is the key to build a richer and better world for all.
